Dear Winter Break,
I love you. I love the things I get to do when you're around. Like working at Hancock Fabrics...I love that job and I love that whenever Winter Break is around, I get to go back to the job for three weeks or so. Here's a picture of Travis (our volunteer), me, Kelly (who is also back for Winter Break), the big boss Rana, and Shamara the stock clerk. Kelly and Rana are two of my very favorite people, so any time I get to spend with them is fantastic all the way around.
Winter Break, I love you because only one day into the break (December 19) you gave my mom a brand new left knee. She likes it. Even though recovery for something like a full knee replacement is a long process, she's doing well and I'm happy Winter Break aligned with her knee surgery so I could be here.
I love you, Winter Break, because I get to be in the Salt Lake valley, and I do love me some Salt Lake. Here's some pictures I took on my way to work recently as I drove down Bangeter Highway.. The first picture was taken on a Wednesday as they were tearing out the sky-walk on 7200 South. The second one is from almost the same spot but taken a day later when the sky-walk was all the way gone.
Don't worry, they built a new one about a block south of this intersection.
I love you, Winter Break, because I get to spend time with people I love, doing things I love, and with little to no real responsibility. I love that you let me stay up way too late at night and sleep in way too late in the morning. I love that you have lots of holidays for the celebratin' and that I get to spend those holidays with awesome people. Winter Break, I love that you will lead me right into Spring Semester, which, I can only assume I will love. Thank you for being good to me, Winter Break. I love you.
Sincerely,
Becky
