The return of Corey

Once upon a time in my first year at SUU, I met Corey. Corey and I became almost instant friends and were able to skip all the beginning-phases of friendship and go right to besties. We've done lots of fun things together like play in orchestra and our trip to Browse on my half birthday three years ago. But as time progressed, our paths took us different places and we didn't see each other very often any more. In fact, up until yesterday, we hadn't seen each other in almost exactly a year.

Luckily he now lives in Salt Lake and I'm home for Winter Break....so we were able to meet up at his house for dinner last night. There's just something about this kid that warms even to the very corners of my heart.

He opted to cook me a beautiful spaghetti dinner. In this photo he said, "We need pictures of our faces AND our food"...and somehow this is the pose we thought worked best. We're awkward in all the same ways; this is friendship.

After the spaghetti dinner we enjoyed strawberry cupcakes with Fun-fetti frosting. This is the first time either of us tried the cupcake sandwhich method and I'm a fan for life. Simply tear off the bottom and put it on top thus making a frosting-sandwich with cupcake-bread. It makes it easier and less messy to eat.

Mostly, though, even above dinner and cupcakes, I'm just glad I was able to see Corey again. A year is much too long to go without a dose of Corey. He really is something amazing. And we'll live happily ever after. Not the end.
